Kopion was founded in 1989 with the purpose of developing young men and women in both their skills and understanding of the game of soccer, while simultaneously stressing the importance of character and integrity. Originally started as a high school boys program, Kopion has recently grown to include programs for girls and younger children as well.
Kopion FC youth teams for fall 2007 consisted of a U12 Boys team and a U13 Girls team. Now for the winter and spring High School seasons, Kopion FC will have two U15's, a U16, U17, and a U18 Boys team. All of our teams receive top level training and coaching and play in the Northern Illinois Soccer League. Kopion has an outstanding coaching staff, with many of these coaches having played and coached at the college level. Teams compete in leagues and tournaments throughout the Chicagoland area.
 Micro-Soccer League (MSL) runs in the spring, winter and fall and is for children ages 4-10. Kopion's entry level league, MSL, is a non-threatening introduction to the game and teaches children the fundamentals and skills necessary to develop as soccer players. There is also a "CHALLENGE" time during each practice in which children are taught Biblical truths.

- The spring schedule consists of practices beginning on April 8th, 2007, and will run from 4:30-5:30 on Tuesdays. Games will be every Saturday at 8:30 or 9:40 AM

This is a brand new program that is really taking off in its first year. The Soccer Kids program is for our youngest soccer learners and is broken into two age divisions:
Kickers 1: This division is for 3.5 to 4 yr olds and is for children beginning in soccer. Some challenging skills and movement concepts are introduced. The emphasis is on individual motor skills development, following directions, and physical activity.
Kickers 2: This division is for 4.5 to 5 yr olds and is the nest progressive step for Kickers 1. More advanced skill development games are played. Emphasis is on teamwork and some 4 v 4 scrimmaging will take place.
This program is for girls, ages 7-11, and is 8 weeks of technical training and play. Each session is 1.5 hours in length and is broken down in the following manner: 45 minutes Technical Training, 20 minutes Instructional Play, and 25 minutes Scrimmage in 3v3 or 4v4 format.
This league is for boys and girls, ages 7-11, and is very much like the club soccer level of training and play. The KYSL practices twice a week and plays its games on Saturday mornings. The key difference between the KYSL and club soccer is that the travel element is not there. Kopion recognizes that travel soccer is difficult for some families to engage in while their children are still young. Therefore, Kopion decided to develop the KYSL in an effort to have competitive training and play without the stress of traveling each weekend. All of the KYSL practices and games are at Hoffman Park in Wheaton.
 Premier Soccer Training and League for Boys and Girls 7-11 years. This program offers excellent small group training, 3 v. 3 small sided games, and a fun atmosphere of learning with our professional coaches.
