Kopion was founded in 1989 with the purpose of developing young men and women in both their skills and understanding of the game of soccer, while simultaneously stressing the importance of character and integrity. Originally started as a high school boys program, Kopion has recently grown to include programs for girls and younger children as well.
The "Soccer Kids" program is for our youngest students of the game. 3, 4, and 5 year old children will experience soccer in an encouraging and nonthreatening way through obstacle courses, fun games, and early skill challenges. The emphasis is on individual motor skills development, following directions, and fun physical activity.

Kopion's entry level league, MSL, is a non-threatening introduction to the game and teaches children the fundamentals and skills necessary to develop as soccer players. There is also a "CHALLENGE" time during the weekly practice times when stories, skits and lessons are taught from a Christian perspective. Micro-Soccer League (MSL) runs in the spring, winter and fall and is for children ages 4-9.

KJA is a competitive non-traveling league for boys and girls who want a more advanced level than park district or micro soccer league. Kopion recognizes that travel soccer is difficult for some families to engage in while their children are still young. Therefore, Kopion decided to develop the KJA in an effort to have competitive training and play without the stress of traveling each weekend.

Kopion FC has both youth club teams as well as high school club teams. All of our teams receive top level training and are coached by licensed professionals who played and/or coached at the collegiate level or higher. The boys teams play in the Northern Illinois Soccer League and the girls teams play in the Illinois Womens Soccer League. Our club teams also compete in competitive tournaments throughout the Chicagoland area. |
